Sugar Cookie Buttercream Frosting

3/4 cup Milk

1 stick butter

1 tsp Vanilla

5 cups of confectioner's sugar

Place butter in a bowl and let it warm to room temperature.  Melt in the microwave if needed.  Mix butter and 1/2 cup of the milk together and blend until creamy.  Add vanilla and mix together.  Add 4 cups of confectioner's sugar and mix.  Add 1/4 cup of milk and blend.  Frosting should be thicker than a glaze.  If took thick, add more milk.  If too much liquid, add more confectioner's sugar. Add food coloring if desired..

Oatmeal Cookies

This is my grandmother Cleone's recipe:

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.

Pumpkin Spice Cookies

3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp pumpkin spice
2 eggs

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. In a separate bowl, cream butter and vanilla together until softened. Add sugar to butter mixture until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time to butter mixture, stirring after each one. Add a fourth of the dry ingredients to the butter mix at a time, stirring after each fourth. Cover bowl and chill in refrigerate over night. Remove dough from fridge and shape into ball 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to make shapes and lay cookies on a greased cookie sheet.


Bake at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes.  Let cool on wax paper before moving the cookies to the container.  Makes 2 to 3 dozen.

String Up Butter Cookies


This is my aunt Sharol's recipe:

3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. In a separate bowl, cream butter and vanilla together until softened. Add sugar to butter mixture until fluffy. Peanut Blossoms



This is my aunt Sharol's recipe:

1 cup Sugar
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup Butter or Margarine
1 cup Peanut Butter
2 Eggs
1/4 cup Milk
2 tsp Vanilla
3 1/2 cups Flour
2 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
2 (6.5 oz) packages of Hershey Kisses

Unwrap Hershey Kisses and set aside. Cream sugar, brown sugar, butter, and peanut butter. Beat in eggs, milk, and vanilla. Stir flour, baking soda, and salt into egg mixture. Shape into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. After baking, place a kiss into each cookie. Makes 4 dozen.

Gingerbread Cookies


This is the Peacocks's recipe:

1 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cloves
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
1 tbsp ginger
5 cups flour
2 tbsp vinegar
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon

Cream shortening, sugar, molasses, vinegar, and egg. Mix all dry ingredients together and beat into cream mixture. Chill for 3 hours. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 6 minutes.

Haystacks


2 cups sugar                                        2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup milk                                        1 stick butter
2 to 3 cups oats                                   1/4 cup coconut
1/3 cup Peanut Butter

In a saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, milk, and butter.  Boil for 1 minute and remove from heat.  Add oats, coconut, and peanut butter.  Blend thoroughly.  Spoon mixture on wax paper lined cookie sheet.  Cool to set.

Mexican Wedding Cookies

This is a recipe from Kelly Ripa:


3/4 cup butter                                                          
    1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract                                               
      1 1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup pecans, chopped

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Mix together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.  Add vanilla, flour, and pecans, mixing well.  Roll dough in 3/4 inch balls.  Place on baking sheet, spacing 1/2 inch apart.  Bake 15 to 18 minutes.  Let cool.  Dust with sugar.

Pizookie


24 to 30 oz Cookie dough, any kind                          3 scoops of vanilla ice cream

Preheat oven to 475 degrees.  Squeeze out cookie dough and press into a 9 inch pan.  Bake for 15 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.  Top with ice cream.  Serves 2 to 3 people.

Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies


This is the Peacocks's recipe:

1 cup raisins
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups oats
1 cup water
2 eggs
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup shortening
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp baking soda

Simmer raisins in water for 20 minutes. Drain, saving 1 cup of water. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add raisins and water. Add dry ingredients. Spoon 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes to get soft and flat oatmeal cookies.

Chocolate Mint Creams


This is Zig Peacocks's recipe:

6 tbsp butter
1 egg
6 oz semisweet baker's chocolate
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp water
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 lb pastel mint kisses

Melt brown sugar, butter, and water on low heat. Add chocolate. Cook until melted. Let stand 15 minutes to cool. Beat in egg. Stir in dry ingredients and mix well. Chill dough 2 hours. Make 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Remove from oven. Place a mint on top and place back into oven for 2 minutes. Cool until mints are firm.

Whopper Cookies


This is Zig Peacocks's recipe:

3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup canola
1 1/2 cup bran cereal
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
3 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
3 cups crushed Whoppers

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, and oil. Beat in dry ingredients. Fold in cereal and 2 1/2 cups of Whoppers. Roll into 1.5 inch balls. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle with rest of Whoppers. Cool 2 minutes on pan.

Crispy Oat Cookies


This is Zig Peacocks's recipe:

1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup flour
1 cup quick oats
1/4 cup canola
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 1/2 cup rice krispies
1 tbsp water
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup coconut

Cream butter and 3/4 cup sugar. Add oil and water. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour, cornstarch, soda, and tartar. Gently add rice krispies, coconut, and oats. Roll into 1 inch balls. Flatten with a cup dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.

Toffee Oat Cookies

3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 bag toffee bits
1 cup brown sugar
3 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
2 1/4 cups oats

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in all dry ingredients. Fold in toffee. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet.

Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup shortening
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup chopped hazelnuts
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cups oats
1 1/2 cup craisins

Cream buter and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs. Mix in dry ingredients. Fold in craisins and hazlenuts. Bake at 375 degreese for 9 to 11 minutes.

Pumpkin Orange Cookies


This is Zig Peacocks's recipe:

1 cup butter
2 tbsp orange juice
1 (15 oz) can pumpkin
1 cup sugar
1 tsp orange zest
2 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp baking soda

Cream butter and sugar. Add pumpkin, orange juice, zest, and egg. Gradually add dry ingredients. Drop tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes.

Frosting:

1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 to 3 tbsp orange juice
1/2 tsp orange zest

Mix till smooth and drizzle over cookies.

Orange Drop Cookies

1 cup butter
3 eggs
1 tbsp orange zest
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups sugar
1/3 cup orange juice
2 tsp baking powder
4 cups flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, orange juice, and zest, Mix in dry ingredients. Drop 2 tsp on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes. Makes 8 dozen.

Fudge Cookies

1 1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
5 tbsp cocoa
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups flour

Mix and drop onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees about 12 minutes.
