1 cup raisins
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups oats
1 cup water
2 eggs
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup shortening
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
Simmer raisins in water for 20 minutes. Drain, saving 1 cup of water. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add raisins and water. Add dry ingredients. Spoon 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes to get soft and flat oatmeal cookies.
